Young designer Manuel Welsky has come up with an original idea: His desk, Klemmbrett, meaning clipboard in German, literally clips in to the desk top. The blue painted steel belt wraps around the desk, holding the wood in place firmly and forming the legs.
Visually, Manuel Welsky contrasts the stainless steel metal strip with oak veneer.
The Klemmbrett desk has already been displayed at the DMY International Design Festival in 2010 in Berlin, and the Blickfang design fair in Vienna. Product Details:
- Material: Oak veneer, powder-coated steel
- Dimensions: Height 75 cm, width 160 cm, depth 80 cm
- The model comes unassembled

"I am excited about the desk and hope that it will be produced soon. The contrast between the blue metal and the wood makes the desktop a real eye-catcher."
Translated from fashion4home.de:
"I like the table very much - simple but unique - almost too good to be used as just a desk - I would also like more colours."
what a refreshingly simple and ingenious design.. love the colour too but please coat the wood with something - desks are a magnet for coffee/tea stains and they will soak right into the wood if untreated making it impossible to clean..
