I like this sofa a lot! It's comfy, it feels very sturdy and well-built, it looks great. But there are couple of niggles so I gave it four rather than five stars. And there are things to bear in mind which may or may not to be to your taste, but this review will help spell those out.
The sofa is a darker red than it appears in the photos on the website - next to the (admittedly fiery) red on my living room wall, it almost looks maroon, with red tinges. For me, this is one of the best things about it: I didn't think I wanted a red darker than how it appears on the website but it works really well for me now. The upholstery has a sheen to it, and the weave catches the light in a way which gives it a two-tone, almost metallic quality. This gives a touch of subtlety which contrasts well with the chunky, robust, oversized styling. But it's understandable that the effect would be hard to capture in a brightly-lit studio (though now that I have the couch, I can see the two tones a little, if not the sheen, in the website images, so look carefully).
The sofa is, for me, on the firmer side of soft, without getting all the way to 'firm', which is pretty much what I was looking for. If you want something that you'll sink right down into, this is probably not the one for you. The other thing is that it's quite low slung, and if you want some neck support, you have to be leaning quite a way back - I guess it's encouraging you to lie back, especially with the chez-longue part being so big. It hadn't occurred to me that this was something to check before buying a sofa, but if you like to sit fairly upright with a lot of back support, then this may not give the best seating position - it's great if you want to lounge about or fall asleep.
I've not tried it out as a bed, but it's certainly big enough, when folded out, for two people, though it will be hard to get a sheet over it. And it feels fairly firm when you lie on it - firmer, funnily enough, than when you sit on it. It doesn't have any space for storage, though, or at least none that can be reached without up-ending the chez longue.
Finally, the niggles are that it is a bit more of a pfaff to put together than it looks - not hugely difficult, but more than just slotting together the two main pieces of the sofa which are built up - and the instructions are not that helpful. Second, the means by which the two pieces slot together is a bit crude and doesn't really work, as far as I can see. Third, the service from Fashion for Home has been a bit mixed. They've been very courteous and friendly, but the delivery of another item, which I asked to arrive at the same time as the sofa (it would otherwise have shipped much sooner), got messed up and I had to make a few phone calls to sort it out. Whether that was their fault or the delivery company was unclear, in fairness.
