Proud Member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council
FASHION FOR HOME is a proud member of The Sustainable Furnishings Council, a leading non-profit organisation for environmentally responsible furniture manufacturing, and promotes sustainable practices among manufacturers, retailers and consumers. SFC members acknowledge the tremendous urgency, and take immediate steps to minimize carbon emissions, waste stream pollutants, un-recyclable content and primary materials from unsustainable sources from any product platform under their control. SFC members lead the industry in developing awareness of best practices throughout their supply chains.
No Waste & Recyclable Products
The manufacture to order process at FASHION FOR HOME saves significant waste and storage space, and combined with our delivery process from factory to door ensures we keep a small ecological footprint. We endeavour to keep the environmental pollution of our production lines and processes to a minimum. We constantly monitor and fine tune our manufacturing processes, to ensure the best possible result for our world and our customers. Items in our range such as the Georgia Cardboard Sideboard and the Dickens Cardboard Bookshelf are 100% recyclable, ensuring our impact on the environment remains as low as possible.
Environment, Health & Safety Certifications
In recognition of our environmental, health and safety standards, all our products are awarded with the CE Mark (European Union) and our manufacturing factories are awarded with the TÜV (German safety-standard association) certification. All our cabinet furniture meets the E1 norm regulations in respect to formaldehyde emissions, and we have been able to substantially reduce the use of dissolvers in the manufacturing process by using UV resistant varnish.
All of our furniture, covers, fabrics and upholstery have been tested according to The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 and with respect to BS: 5852 testing criteria.
In an effort to increase customer satisfaction and to optimise our own strict manufacturing criteria, we have also introduced an ISO 9000 quality control system, which will ensure that our products meet and surpass European Standards. Our entire product range is of course guaranteed DMF (dimethyl fumarate) free, and our furniture covers are tested by internationally renowned institutes such as the German TÜV Süd, TÜV Rheinland and SGS.
Green Customisation
At FASHION FOR HOME we offer customisation of our product range with special requirements, such as fire retardant, resilient, or sustainable materials. We also offer realisation of your own designs with the option to market designs worldwide. We provide sample and prototype manufacturing with short lead times. So feel free to contact us with a request or query for producing an item to your sustainability requirements.
Manufacturing partners - Social, Ethical & Environmental
FASHION FOR HOME carefully chooses its production and delivery partners in Eastern Europe and Asia according to strict criteria. Our furniture is manufactured in the same factories and to the same high standards as many reknown brand name luxury items – with the only real difference being the incredibly low-prices we charge.
All our manufacturing sites are not only subject to stringent quality controls but we constantly ensure that social, ethical, labour-related, and environmental standards are all being met. Our quality assurance team reserve the right to inspect all our manufacturing factories at any time to ensure that our furniture is being produced under fair, ethical and environmentally responsible conditions.
